CONE BEAM CT (DVT)

Acquirement of Requisite Qualification and Expert Knowledge

Why is DVT useful for me?

The three-dimensional radio-graphic technique DVT give the dentist today the possibility for a much more précised planning of the treatment, compared to the two dimensional X-ray photograph. Therefore in quality orientated surgeries the DVT will play in future an essential role to increase the treatment quality. By choosing a dentist, especially for self-pay patients, the use of these techniques will play in future a pivotal question.

What will be needed?

The dentist will need an extended requisite qualification in radiation protection, because the common qualification does not cover this radio-graphic technique. The requisite qualification is needed for the operation, as well as for the position of „maintainable indication“and the appraisal of the corresponding DVT pictures.

What does the Course offer to me?

This course consists of two in-class-lectures which will explain the advantages and disadvantages of the DVT compared to the two-dimensional X-ray technique.
In the first part, lasting eight hours, a special course in accordance to enclosure 3.2 of the regulations „Requisite qualification and knowledge in radiation protection at the use of X-ray equipment in medicine, dentistry dd. December 22, 2005“ is offered to achieve the extended requisite qualification. This course is also valid as actualisation course of qualification after 5 years.
Followed up by a period of minimum three months the competence has to be acquired. To achieve the competence minimum 25 DVT pictures, which will be handed over to you during the first part of the course, via a data processing medium, have to be diagnosed.
This will be followed up by the second part of the course lasting 5 hours, which will be completed with the achievement of the competence/expert knowledge.
